Every player has a beginning.
Not the “big stadium” kind - the real beginning.
The one that starts in school grounds, with small wins, quiet losses, and a dream that slowly grows stronger.
For Suthil Darshan, that beginning was in Budalur, Thanjavur, and it started when he was just a kid in the 6th standard. That’s when he first began playing Kabaddi and over time, it stopped being “just a sport” and became something he genuinely wanted to build his life around.

Suthil studied at Government Higher Secondary School, Budalur (Thanjavur) and today, he is pursuing his higher education at Vels University, Chennai, while continuing to work seriously on his sporting journey.
Suthil isn’t someone who plays quietly. He plays like someone who has something to prove.
His performances in tournaments speak for themselves. He has been part of South India tournaments multiple times and has consistently stood out as a raider.
South India Tournament – 5 times Best Raider Award
A Grade Matches – 10 times Best Raider Award
Awards like these don’t come from luck. They come from confidence, sharp instincts, and the kind of hard work that happens long before match day.
Suthil's s journey has already taken him across important competitive platforms, and he continues to build his profile step by step. His achievements include:
SGFI School Nationals - Participation
Junior Nationals - Gold Medal
Senior State level
Junior State level
School State level
From school competitions to national recognition, his progress has been steady and the hunger to keep growing is clearly visible.
While Kabaddi remains his main strength, Darshan has also participated in Fencing, which shows his willingness to learn, adapt, and challenge himself beyond the usual.
That mindset is rare and it’s exactly what shapes strong athlete.
Suthil is not alone in this journey. He has two brothers who are a big part of his life. That kind of family support matters. Because behind every player chasing a dream, there’s always a family quietly holding things together.
Suthil is currently training under the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Chennai, one of the most respected platforms for athlete development in the country. Being part of SAI brings discipline, structure, and constant improvement and it’s a strong step forward for any young player aiming for the next level.
From a school in Budalur to national-level achievements, from Best Raider awards to competitive matches - Suthil Darshan is building his journey with hard work and real consistency.
At Tamil Thalaivas, we’re excited to see young athletes like him, players who bring talent, hunger, and the right attitude to the mat.
Welcome to the Tamil Thalaivas family, Suthil.
We’re proud of your journey so far and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
